Coffee with an expert - Innovating the manufacturing industry by Machine Learning & Edge Computing

How to make it happen in a scalable way and how other industries can learn from a global lighthouse project; Concepts such as Industry 4.0, Digital Twins and Smart Factory entails new expertise and new ways of working. Automated and robotized production has generated new demands on how to integrate systems to achieve robust and scalable solutions. The manufacturing Industry is taking the lead but the change methods and new platform approaches applies for all industries.
Sandvik Coromant has built a platform, CoroPlus®, which connects tools and IoT devices with Cloud-based analytics and machine learning. With the CoroPlus® platform algorithms can also be distributed back to machines, thus optimising machining processes and avoiding accidents.

Here you can see more of CoroPlus®  By Sandvik Coromant.
In this Coffee with an Expert Jörgen and Jens presents and discusses what it takes behind the scenes to build a scalable service enablement platform like CoroPlus®. They will present key learnings and take-aways with focus on:

·      Edge Computing and decentralized architectures
·      Change management and implementation of "seeing is believing" projects
·      How IoT becomes part of business models when real-time becomes a reality in more and more applications
·      The generic aspects of Service Enablement Platforms and The paradigm shift in integration techniques

Jörgen Clevensjö is today working as a Domain Architect at Sandvik Coromant and has the architectural responsibility for their Service Enablement Platform (SEP) which is the foundation for their CoroPlus® offer. Previously working as Enterprise Architect at Sandvik AB responsible for Application Architecture & Integration Architecture. Winner of Microsoft .Net Award in the category of Infrastructure, and has documented experience in developing solutions within the area of distributed integration at Sandvik and previously as a contractor.
